KNOTWEED
Knotweed is not weed. It is a weed however. In Dutch, this plant is called a ‘duizendknoop’, which means ‘a thousand buttons’ or ‘a thousand knots’. A thousand knots seem worrying in any case. A thousand knots in your hair, probably mean you have to shave your head. And you don’t want the wind to be at a thousand knots either. The Japanese knotweed is one of the most invasive plants in the Netherlands. The strong roots and stems can damage the area in which it is located in several ways. Worst of all? It’s very hard to get rid of!
